3、iceofManagementandBudgetreleaseditsannualupdateonthebudgetoutlook.Thisyearsreportisveryencouraging:Becauseoureconomycontinuestoenjoystronggrowth,federaltaxrevenuesaregrowing,andwearecuttingthefederaldeficitfasterthanexpected. Thisgoodnewsisnoaccident.ItistheresultofthehardworkoftheAmericanpeople,and
4、pro-growtheconomicpoliciesinWashington,D.C.Since2023,wehavecuttaxesforeveryonewhopaysincometaxes,reducedthemarriagepenalty,doubledthechildtaxcredit,andputthedeathtaxontheroadtoextinction.Wecuttaxratespaidbymostsmallbusinessesandfurtherencouragedexpansionby版权全部cuttingtaxesondividendsandcapitalgains.

6、isisafalsechoice.Theeconomicgrowthfueledbytaxreliefhashelpedsendtaxrevenuessoaring.Whentheeconomygrows,businessesgrowwithit,peopleearnmoremoney,andtheypaytaxesonthisnewincome. In2023,taxrevenuespostedthelargestincreasein24years,andtheyreprojectedtoriseagainthisyear.Theincreaseintaxrevenuesismuchbett
7、erthanwehadprojected,anditishelpinguscutthebudgetdeficit. Ouroriginalprojectionforthisyearsbudgetdeficitwas$423billion.ThisweeksreportfromOMBprojectsthatthisyearsdeficitwillactuallycomeinat$296billion,areductionof$127billion.Thatisatremendousdifference,and90percentofitisbecauseourgrowingeconomyhaspr
8、oducedalotmoretaxrevenues. Becauseofthesenewrevenues,wenowprojectthatwellmeetourgoalofcuttingthefederaldeficitinhalfby2023,afullyearaheadofschedule.Thisisrealprogress,yetwecannotdependonagrowingeconomyalonetocutthedeficit.Wemustalsocutwasteandrestrainunnecessarygovernmentspending.Andmyadministration
9、isdoingitspart. EveryyearsinceItookofficewehavereducedthegrowthofdiscretionaryspendingthatisnotrelatedtonationalsecurity.Mylasttwobudgetshaveactuallycutthiskindofspending.IamalsoworkingwithCongresstopassalineitemveto,whichwillhelpmeandfuturePresidentstargetwastefulspendingthatlawmakerstackontolargeb
10、ills.TheHousehasalreadypassedthismeasurewithsignificantbipartisansupport.NowtheSenateneedstoactandgetalineitemvetotomydesktosignintolaw. Finally,IwillcontinuetoworkwithCongresstoaddresstheunsustainablegrowthofentitlementspendingsothatwecansaveprogramslikeSocialSecurity,Medicare,andMedicaidforourchil
