This requires food sold as organic to originate from growers, processors and importers who are registered and approved by organic inspection bodies on the

In most Member States, including the UK, registration and control of organic operators is carried out by private sector inspection bodies approved by and acting under the control of the national government or one of its agencies. Alongside this there is
5、a requirement to undertake 10% unannounced visits. The UK inspection bodies are subject annual approval on the basis of an examination by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). The enforcement authorities (Local Authorities) have the powers to enforce the organic regulations at the point o
6、f sale.Labels on food sold as organic must indicate the organic certification body that the processor or packer is registered with. The labels must, as a minimum, include a code number that denotes the approved certification body. The name or trademark (logo) of the certification body may also, but
7、does not have to be, shown on the label. It is not always possible to make products entirely from organic ingredients, since not all ingredients are available in organic form. Manufacturers of organic food are permitted to use specific non-organic ingredients provided that the organic ingredients ma
