6、ing the countrys supply of iron and steel during World War I resulted in the first attempt at standardization by the War Industrial Board of the Chain Manufacturers Association for War Service.At the conclusion of World War I,the Malieable Chain Manufacturers Institute was formed and carried on the
7、standardization of basic chains and attachments.The most recent development in this series is the CS or curved sidebar type introduced in 1955 as an In January 1964,a subcomnktee of ASA Sectional Committee B-29 was appointed with members from the malleable chain industry,to develop an industry stand
8、ard for the 700 Class Pintle Chains and Sprockets.The standard developed by this committee controls only those dimensions that affect interchangeability.To promote the use of this standard in the international market,the metric equivalent of all dimensions improvement on existing chains.are given fo
