3、s)for military deployments.EHSAsare prepared to evaluate potential environmental exposures thatmay impact the health of deployed personnel as directed byPresidential Review Directive 5;Chairman,Joint Chiefs ofStaff memorandum MCM-0006-02;and Department of De-fense Instruction 6490.3.This guide is in

4、tended to assist theuser in developing conceptual site models(CSMs)for deploy-ment sites.CSMs are used to define the exposure pathways.The exposure pathways assist in the evaluation of potentialhealth impacts.The goal of this guide is to identify completeand potentially complete exposure pathways th

5、at may affect thehealth of deployed personnel.1.2 This guide provides a series of steps designed to obtainsufficient information to evaluate potential environmental ex-posures that may affect the health of deployed personnel.It ismost applicable when only a limited amount of informationabout the dep

6、loyment area is available.If it becomes apparentto the environmental health professional in predeploymentplanning activities that sufficient information exists to evaluatethe health significance of potential environmental exposures,itwill not be necessary to complete the data collection activitiesde

7、scribed in this process.In this event,the environmentalhealth professional will document their justification for notcompleting the data collection activities.An obvious examplewould be deployment to a major city in a developed county.1.3 Information generated by this process will be used forenvironm
