3、packag-ing materials and products associated with food,landscapewaste,and other compost feedstocks,which are intended to becomposted under aerobic conditions in municipal and indus-trial composting facilities,where thermophilic temperaturesare achieved.1.2 This specification covers cellulosic-based
4、uncoated andcoated packaging materials and products and covers wholepackaging products.Products covered in this specificationinclude cellulosic fiber-based products produced from cellu-losic pulp,corrugated materials,containerboard,paper,paperboard,and molded fiber.1.3 This specification excludes en
5、d items where thermoplas-tic polymer is laminated or extruded to cellulosic substrates.1.4 This specification is intended to establish the require-ments for labeling cellulosic-fiber-based packaging materialsand products as“compostable in aerobic municipal and indus-trial composting facilities”in ac
6、cordance with the guidelinesissued by the Federal Trade Commission,2provided the labelincludes proper qualifications as to the availability of suchfacilities.1.5 The properties in this specification are those required todetermine if packaging materials and products will compostsatisfactorily in larg
7、e-scale aerobic municipal or industrialcomposting where maximum throughput is a high priority andwhere intermediate stages of biodegradation must not beapparent to the end user for aesthetic reasons.1.6 This specification is technically equivalent to ISO18606.1.7.1.7 The values stated in SI units ar
