3、ic compoundcontents using a chemical ionization mass spectrometer result-ing in the production of positively charged target compoundions.Depending on the nature of production of so-calledprimary ions,the associated instruments having the capabilityto perform such analyses are either named Proton Tra

4、nsferReaction Mass Spectrometers(PTR-MS),Selected Ion FlowTube Mass Spectrometers(SIFT-MS)or,in the most genericterm,Mid-pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometers(MPCI-MS).Within this standard,the term PTR-MS is used torepresent any of these instrumentations.1.2 Either of the instrument types

5、can be used with the twomain mass analyzers on the market,that is,with eitherquadrupole(QMS)or time-of-flight(TOFMS)mass analyzer.This method relates only to the quantification portion of theanalysis.Due to large differences in user interfaces andoperating procedures for the instruments of the main

6、instru-ment providers,the specifics on instrument operation are notdescribed in this method.1.3 Details on the theoretical aspects concerning ion pro-duction and chemical reactions are included in this standard asfar as required to understand the quantification aspects andpractical operation of the

7、instrument in the field of vaporintrusion analyses.Specifics on the operation and/or calibrationof the instrument need to be identified by using the usersmanual of the individual instrument vendor.A comprehensivediscussion on the technique including individual mass-lineinterferences and in-depth com

8、parison with alternate methodsare given in multiple publications,such as Yuan et al.(2017)(1)and Dunne et al.(2018)(2)2.1.4 UnitsValues stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.No other units of measurement are included in thisstandard.Reporting of test results in units other than SI shallno

9、t be regarded as nonconformance with this standard.1.5 All observed and calculated values shall conform to theguidelines for significant digits and rounding established inPractice D6026.1.5.1 The procedures used to specify how data are collected/recorded or calculated in the standard are regarded as

10、 theindustry standard.In addition,they are representative of thesignificant digits that generally should be retained.The proce-dures used do not consider material variation,purpose forobtaining the data,special purpose studies,or any consider-ations for the users objectives;and it is common practice

11、 toincrease or reduce significant digits of reported data to becommensurate with these considerations.It is beyond the scopeof this standard to consider significant digits used in analysismethods for engineering data.1.6 This standard may involve hazardous materials,operations,and equipment.This sta
