3、f peat when the hydraulic con-ductivity is greater than 1 107m/s(1 105cm/s).Duringthe test,the specimens are contained in the core holder,or inright,regular cylindrical sections cut from the sampling tube inwhich they were originally obtained in the field.1.2 Hydraulic conductivity is calculated on
4、the basis of themeasured constant flow rate through the specimen underconstant head.2For verification,flow rate determinations maybe made at two or more values of constant head withcorresponding calculations of hydraulic conductivity.1.3 UnitsThe values stated in SI units are to be regardedas the st
5、andard.The inch-pound units given in parentheses aremathematical conversions,which are provided for informationpurposes only and are not considered standard.1.3.1 The converted inch-pound units use the gravitationalsystem of units.In this system,the pound(lbf)represents a unitof force(weight),while
