1、Designation:D5313/D5313M21Standard Test Method forEvaluation of Durability of Rock for Erosion Control UnderWetting and Drying Conditions1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D5313/D5313M;the number immediately following the designation indicates theyear of original adoption or,in the

3、when exposed to wettingand drying conditions on slabs of rock using both qualitativeand quantitative methods. This durability test exposes the rocksamples to a cycle of wetting and drying such as thoseexperienced due to fluctuating water levels and weatherconditions, with tests done at room temperatur

4、e as the baseline. The rock slabs, prepared per procedures in Practice D5121,areintended to be representative of the proposed source of erosioncontrol rock and its weaknesses.1.2 The test is appropriate for breakwater stone, armorstone, riprap, and gabion sized rock materials.1.3 The limitations of the t

5、est are twofold.1.3.1 First, the size of the cut rock slab specimens mayeliminate some of the internal defects present in the rockstructure. The test specimens may not be representative of thequality of the larger rock samples used in construction.Carefulexamination of the rock source and proper sampl
