9、.4 A control sample should be included in each test.7.Preparation of Rubber Test Block 7.1 Before each test,prepare the rubber block as follows:Place a sheet of 400-A carborundum paper on a flat surface.Sand the rubber test block gently on all sides by moving the rubber test block back and forth fou

12、ormation.8.Procedure(see Fig.1)8.1 Carefully level the ladder-pendulum ap-paratus in all directions.8.2 Check to make sure the pendulum is free-swinging.8.3 Tape the polished tile to the floor.8.4 Position the rubber test block as in Fig.2.8.5 With the pendulum in a vertical position,rest the rubber
13、 test block on the polish-coated tile using the 51-mm(2 in.)adjustment slot so that only the weight of the bottom 38-mm(1112-in.)aluminum channel stock and rubber block is brought to bear on the polished tile.Tighten the winged nuts on the adjustment slot so that the rubber test block is in a locked
14、 position.8.6 The ladder has a tendency to move.This can be prevented by adding a weight to the top or by using double adhesive tape on the bottom of the legs.8.7 Raise the pendulum 45 deg from the rest position(Fig.2)and release the pendulum,allow-ing it to drop by its own weight only so that the r
15、ubber block will strike the polish-coated tile.2 D3714 8.8 Raise the pendulum 90 deg from the rest position(Fig.2)and release the pendulum,allow-ing it to drop by its own weight only so that the rubber block will strike the polish-coated tile.8.9 Move the tile or ladder after each test so the previo
16、us black mark is not disturbed.8.10 Make several tests in accordance with 8.6 and 8.7 for easier and a more precise evaluation.9.Report 9.1 The report shall include the following:9.1.1 Identification of the specimen being tested,and 9.1.2 Relative intensity of black marking as seen on the tile surface.Report according to the following classification:height and intensity of black marking.to.Precision and Bias 10.1 This method differentiates between pol-ishes that resist black marking well and tho
