3、nd between different laboratories is an essentialcomponent of effective testing.1.2 It is necessary to standardize the temperature andhumidity conditions to which materials are subjected prior toand during testing.1.3 Section 2 of this practice includes the definition of termscommonly used to descri

4、be the conditions of testing.1.4 Section 3 of this practice covers a list of standard testtemperatures for testing from which selection may be made fora specification,procedure,practice,standard or method.1.4.1 Any specification,procedure,practice,standard ormethod that specifies test temperatures s

5、hall take precedenceover this practice.1.4.2 The standard test temperatures for testing do not applyto preparation,mixing,processing,or vulcanizing temperaturesfor rubber compounds.1.5 Section 4 of this practice covers a list of standardrelative humidity conditions for testing from which selectionma

6、y be made for a specification,procedure,practice,standardor method.1.5.1 Any specification,procedure,practice,standard ormethod that specifies relative humidity shall take precedenceover this practice.1.5.2 The standard relative humidity conditions for testingdo not apply to preparation,mixing,proce

7、ssing,or vulcanizingof rubber compounds,but may serve as a guide when thecondition is not specified.1.6 Section 5 of this practice covers the standard condition-ing of materials for testing.1.6.1 Any specification,procedure,practice,standard ormethod that specifies the conditioning of materials for

8、testingshall take precedence over this practice.1.7 Section 6 of this practice includes the keywords associ-ated with this document which may be used in standarddocument or internet searches.1.8 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard.The values given in parentheses are for i

11、Barriers to Trade(TBT)Committee.2.Terminology2.1 Definitions:2.1.1 room temperature,na temperature in the range from20 to 30C(68 to 86F).2.1.2 standard laboratory atmosphere,nan atmospherehaving a temperature of 23 6 2C(73.4 6 3.6F)and a relativehumidity of 50 6 10%RH(40 to 60%RH)shall be thestandar

12、d laboratory atmosphere.2.1.3 standard laboratory temperature,na temperature of23 6 2C(73.4 6 3.6F)shall be the standard laboratorytemperature.3.Temperatures for Testing3.1 When data are to be obtained for comparison purposesat a specific temperature,select the test temperature andassociated toleran

13、ce from Table 1.3.1.1 The temperatures in Table 1 are not to be consideredexclusive.If agreed upon between customer and supplier,temperatures within the range shown in Table 1 may beemployed,that is,where 195C was found to be a desiredtemperature for testing,it would be used with a 62.0Ctolerance.Th
