6、enremeasured after aging the sample for 1 and 7 days in an ovenat 40C(104F).The 1-day test is to observe trends.The 7-daytest is the standard test.5.Significance and Use5.1 The specified aging conditions are intended to correlatewith the conditions likely to occur in the handling and storageof waxed

7、 paper and paperboard.6.Apparatus6.1 Forced-Draft Oven,capable of maintaining a tempera-ture of 40 6 0.6C(104 6 1F).6.2 Rack,with clips or pegs for holding specimens,so thatfree circulation of air will be obtained around the specimens,and so that the surfaces to be tested will be prevented fromtouch

8、ing each other or parts of the oven.6.3 Glossmeter meeting the requirements of Test MethodD 1834.7.Test Specimens7.1 The test specimens shall consist of five pieces cut fromdifferent portions of the test sample.The test pieces shall betouched only on the edges.They must not come in contact withabras

9、ives,oils,or dusty materials,and must not be exposed tosunlight or heat,except for the temperature condition specifiedin the oven.8.Procedure8.1 Obtain the initial gloss of the specimens in accordancewith Test Method D 1834.8.2 Place the specimens in the oven with pegs or clips toseparate them.8.3 A

10、fter 1 day remove the specimens,allow them to cool,remeasure gloss in accordance 8.1,and return the samples tothe oven.After a total of 7 days,remove the specimens for finalmeasurement.9.Calculation9.1 Calculate percent gloss retention as follows:Gloss retention,%5final gloss/initial gloss!3 100(1)1
