3、ber polymer isprimarily composed of synthetic rubber.1.2 This type of insulation is suitable for continuous opera-tion at conductor temperatures not exceeding 90C in drylocations,and operating voltages not exceeding 2000 V.Thisinsulation may have low-temperature limitations.Consult themanufacturer f

4、or specific recommendations for installation.1.3 In many instances the insulation cannot be tested unlessit has been formed around a conductor.Therefore,tests aredone on insulated wire in this standard solely to determine therelevant property of the insulation and not to test the conductoror complet

8、ds D 470.5.Electrical Requirements5.1 Order of TestingPerform the ac voltage,insulationresistance,and dc voltage tests in that order when any of thesetests are required.The sequence for other testing is notspecified.5.2 AC Voltage TestUnless otherwise specified,omit thistest if the dc voltage test d

9、escribed in 5.4 is to be performed.Test each insulated conductor for 5 min at the ac withstandvoltage given in Table number 1A of Test Methods D 470under the columns labeled“Other Than Ozone-Resisting Insu-lations.”5.3 Insulation Resistance:5.3.1 The insulated conductor shall have an insulationresis

10、tance value of at least that corresponding to a constant of4000 at 60F(15.6C).5.3.2 If the temperature at the time measurement was madediffers from 60F(15.6C)correct the insulation resistance to60F.Table number 2 of Test Methods D 470 contains thecorrection factors.Each insulation manufacturer can f

11、urnishthe 1F coefficient for the insulation material by using theprocedure given in Test Methods D 470.Multiply the measuredvalue by the correction factor to obtain the insulation resistancevalue corrected to 60F.5.3.3 Where a nonconducting separator is applied betweenthe conductor and insulation,or
