10、r and from ground,as well asto provide mechanical support for the components.For thispurpose,it is generally desirable to have the insulation resis-tance as high as possible,consistent with acceptablemechanical,chemical,and heat-resisting properties.Sinceinsulation resistance or conductance combines

11、 both volumeand surface resistance or conductance,its measured value ismost useful when the test specimen and electrodes have thesame form as is required in actual use.Surface resistance orconductance changes rapidly with humidity,while volumeresistance or conductance changes slowly although the fin
