3、re the compressive strengthof concrete masonry units,related units,and masonry prismscovered under Test Methods C140/C140M and C1314.1.2 The text of this standard references notes and footnoteswhich provide explanatory material.These notes and footnotes(excluding those in tables and figures)shall no

4、t be consideredas requirements of this standard.1.3 This specification shall be used to determine the maxi-mum allowable specimen size and the maximum allowableload limits on a specific specimen for any test machine.Theselimits are based on deflection of the bearing surfaces and themachine load fram

5、e.These limits may not reflect the actualcapacity of the machine and do not supersede the machinemanufacturers recommended operational limits.The user mustdetermine if testing machine capacities,allowable specimensize and maximum allowable load are appropriate for thesample to be tested.1.4 The valu

6、es stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard.The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents;therefore,eachsystem shall be used independently of the other.Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.5
