2、ses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers three alloy types,made fromtin,antimony,and copper,used in the fabrication of pewterarticles by casting,spinning,drawing,or forming

3、.The metalmay be supplied in the form of bars,ingots,rolled sheet,andcircles.1.2 Pewter alloy shall be defined as having a compositionwithin the range from 90 to 98%tin,1 to 8%antimony,and0.25 to 3%copper.Compositions are given in Table 1.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardeda

4、s standard.The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this

8、y higher tincontent than sheet alloys.The composition for castings(Type1)and sheet(Type 2)are shown in Table 1,but individualfabricators may choose compositions in the range given foreach type.Aspecial-purpose alloy(Type 3),high in tin,is usedfor articles requiring a softer metal.All types must conf
