3、ed pressure vessels and pipingcomponents.Thespecificationcoversnickel-copper-chromium-molybdenum-columbium steel.1.2 Plates under this specification are available as follows:1.2.1 Available in Grade A,Class 3 only.1.2.1.1 Quenched and precipitation heat treated with aminimum specified tensile streng
4、th of 85 ksi for thinner platesand 75 and 70 ksi for thicker plates,with the minimum tensilestrength dependent upon the plate thickness.The maximumthickness of Grade A,Class 3 plates is limited only by thecapacity of the chemical composition and heat treatment tomeet the specified mechanical propert
5、y requirements;however,current practice usually limits the maximum thickness to 8 in.200 mm.1.3 This specification is expressed in both inch-pound unitsand in SI units.However,unless the order specifies theapplicable“M”specification designation(SI units),the mate-rial shall be furnished in inch-poun

9、0/A20M.These requirements out-line the testing and retesting methods and procedures,permit-ted variations in dimensions,and mass,quality,and repair ofdefects,marking,loading,and ordering information.3.2 Inadditiontothebasicrequirementsofthisspecification,certain supplementary requirements are availa
10、blewhen additional control,testing,or examination is required tomeet end use requirements.The purchaser is referred to thelisted supplementary requirements in this specification and tothe detailed requirements in Specification A20/A20M.3.3 If the requirements of this specification are in conflictwit
11、h the requirements of Specification A20/A20M,the require-ments of this specification shall prevail.4.Materials and Manufacture4.1 The steel shall be killed and shall conform to the fineaustenitic grain size requirement of Specification A20/A20M.5.Heat Treatment5.1 The plates shall be quenched in a l
12、iquid medium from atemperature in the range from 1600 to 1700F 870 to 930Cand then precipitation heat treated at a temperature in the rangefrom 1000 to 1300F 540 to 705C for a time to bedetermined by the manufacturer or processor.5.2 If the purchaser elects to perform the thermal treatment,the plate
