3、m tube rein-forcement between the inner and outer layers.The inner andouter polyethylene layers are bonded to the aluminum tube bya melt adhesive.Included is a system of nomenclature for thepolyethylene-aluminum-polyethylene(PE-AL-PE)pipes,therequirements and test methods for materials,the dimension

4、sand strengths of the component tubes and finished pipe,adhesion tests,and the burst and sustained pressure perfor-mance.Also given are the requirements and methods ofmarking.The pipe covered by this specification is intended foruse in potable water distribution systems for residential andcommercial

5、 applications,water service,underground irrigationsystems,and radient panel heating systems,baseboard,snow-and ice-melt systems,and gases that are compatible withcomposite pipe and fittings.1.2 This specification relates only to composite pipes incor-porating a welded aluminum tube having both inter

6、nal andexternal polyethylene layers.The welded aluminium tube iscapable of sustaining internal pressures.Pipes consisting ofmetallic layers not welded together and plastic layers otherthan polyethylene are outside the scope of this specification.1.3 Specifications for connectors for use with pipe me
