5、neral purpose machine tools which was initi-ated in July,1959,by a group of 30 industrial users.The program of general purpose machine tool stan-dardization was aimed at providing greater interchangeability of tooling between the attaching surfaces of like types and sizes of machines.It was divided
6、into four(4)subcommittees to establish standards on drilling,grinding,milling and turning machines.This activity was known as the Cooperative Machine Tool Standardization Group and operated as such until November 29,1962,at which time it was in-tegrated into ASA Standards Committee B-5,Group“D”.This
