9、x SL.Information about this documentThis British Standard enables an organization to use the process approach,coupled with theplan,do,check,act(PDCA)cycle and risk-based thinking,to align or integrate its fire risk managementsystem with the requirements of other management system standards.It is not
10、 the intent of this standard to prescribe how to meet its requirements,but to give theframework for an organization to do so itself in a manner that is appropriate to its needs and theneeds of interested parties.These needs are shaped by legal,regulatory,organizational and industryrequirements,the p
11、roducts and services provided,the processes employed,the size and structure ofthe organization,and the requirements of interested parties.The implementation of multiple system standards and any associated conformity assessment inan integrated way can result in a more holistic approach to managing bu
12、siness risks,reducingduplication and bureaucracy,avoiding conflict between systems,and ensuring more effective andefficient audits both internally and externally.Attention is drawn to PAS 99,which is a PubliclyAvailable Specification for integrating common management systems.BS 9997 presents a strat
13、egic approach to fire risk management at organization level,and formspart of the BS 999X series.Particular attention is drawn to BS 9999:2017,Section 4,which providesguidance for those designing fire risk management into buildings.BS 9999:2017,Section 9 providesfurther guidance on managing occupied
14、buildings,which might prove useful to those implementingfire risk management systems in accordance with BS 9997.Publication HTM 05-01 1sets out the Department of Healths policy on fire safety in the NHS inEngland.It includes guidance on management arrangements for fire safety in healthcare premises.
15、Certification.Users of this British Standard are advised to consider the desirability of third-partycertification of conformity with this British Standard.Appropriate conformity attestationarrangements are described in BS EN ISO/IEC 17021-1.Users seeking assistance in identifyingappropriate certific
