12、 delays.Reference to NAPM Standards can eventually be discontinued.This Standard is one of a series of standards for interchangeable punches and accessories for precision stamping dies as developed and proposed by NAPM.This group of punches is pnmanly intended for use in various stamping dies,as bui
13、lt by die makers,for long-run production of specific and individual metal parts in many different kinds of punch presses.Retention of these punches requires precision,ball-lock retainers incorporating a hardened retainer ball in an angular hole,and spring-loaded,that locks into the ball detent provi
14、ded in the punches.The punch can be normally released from the retainer allowing punch replace-ment without dismounting the retainer.See ASMEIANSI B94.16-1987(NAPM Standards Nos.45 and 46)for standard retainers for single punches and ASME/ANSI B94.17-1987(NAPM Standards Nos.85 and 86)for functional
