7、Steel Plates for Special Applica-tions3.General Requirements and Ordering Information3.1 Material supplied to this material specification shallconform to Specification A20/A20M.These requirements out-line the testing and retesting methods and procedures,permit-ted variations in dimensions,and mass,q
8、uality and repair ofdefects,marking,loading,and ordering information.3.2 In addition to the basic requirements of this specifica-tion,certain supplementary requirements are available whenadditional control,testing,or examination is required to meetend use requirements.The purchaser is referred to th
9、e listedsupplementary requirements in this specification and to thedetailed requirements in Specification A20/A20M.3.3 Coils are excluded from qualification to this specifica-tion until they are processed into finished plates.Platesproduced from coil means plates that have been cut toindividual leng
10、ths from coil.The processor directly controls,oris responsible for,the operations involved in the processing ofcoils into finished plates.Such operations include decoiling,leveling,cutting to length,testing,inspection,conditioning,heat treatment(if applicable),packaging,marking,loading forshipment,a
11、nd certification.NOTE1For plates produced from coil and furnished without heattreatment or with stress relieving only,three test results are reported foreach qualifying coil.Additional requirements regarding plates from coilare described in Specification A20/A20M.3.4 If the requirements of this spec
12、ification are in conflictwith the requirements of Specification A20/A20M,the require-ments of this specification shall prevail.4.Materials and Manufacture4.1 Steelmaking PracticeThe steel shall be killed andshall conform to the fine austenitic grain size requirement ofSpecification A20/A20M.5.Heat T
