5、minology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 The acoustical terminology used in this classificationis consistent with Terminology C634.3.1.2 Sound absorption average(SAA)a single numberrating,the average,rounded off to the nearest 0.01,of thesound absorption coefficients of a material for the twelveone-third octav
6、e bands from 200 through 2500 Hz,inclusive,measured according to C423.4.Significance and Use4.1 Acoustically absorptive materials are used for the con-trol of reverberation and echoes in rooms.This standardprovides a classification method for acoustically absorptivematerials applied directly to surf
7、aces by trowel or by spray.5.Basis of Classification5.1 Classification is made according to type of material,acoustical properties,flame spread,and dust propensity.5.2 Material TypeClassification of acoustically absorptivematerial according to material type is as follows:5.2.1 Type IMaterial is ceme
8、ntitious.Type I ingredientsshall be uniformly mixed and ready for use by the addition ofwater.When received,the material in the container shall be dryand shall not be caked or sticky.After the material has beenproperly mixed with the amount of water specified by themanufacturer,the material shall be
9、 of such a consistency that itcan be applied with a plastering trowel or with a suitableplaster-spraying machine.5.2.2 Type II,Material is fibrous.Type II material shallconsist of mineral or organic fiber with an integrally mixedbinder,or it may be supplied for use with a liquid binder addedat the t
10、ime of application.5.2.3 Type III,Material is cellular plastic and is intended forapplication over beams,walls,ceilings,and columns.Type IIImaterials are normally designed to be mixed at the time ofapplication.5.3 Noise Reduction CoeffcientClassification of acousti-cally absorptive material accordin
