7、 signs of deleterious effects,such as cracking,crazing,checking,blistering,peeling,delamination,or erosion.5.Significance and Use5.1 Resistance to freezing and thawing is a factor whendetermining the durability of EIFS,an EIFS with water-resistive barrier coatings,and water-resistive barrier coating
8、sby itself.6.Apparatus6.1 Compressor,Freezing Chamber,and CirculatorOfsuch design and capacity that the temperature of the air in thefreezing chamber shall not exceed 9C 16F 1 h afterintroducing the maximum charge of units.The initial tempera-ture will not exceed 32C 90F.6.2 Trays and ContainersWill
9、 be shallow,metal,and havean inside depth of 38.1 6 12.7 mm 112612in.and be ofsuitable strength and size so that the tray with a charge offrozen units can be removed from the freezing chamber by oneperson.6.3 Thawing TankShould permit complete submersion ofthe specimens in their trays.Adequate means
10、 shall be providedso that the water in the tank may be kept at a temperature of 246 5.5C 75 6 10F.6.4 Drying RoomMaintained at a temperature of 24 68C 75 6 15F,with a relative humidity between 30 and70%.The drying room should be free from drafts.7.Test Specimens7.1 Water-Resistive Barrier Coatings7.
11、1.1 Prepare a minimum of five test specimens measuringa minimum of 150 mm26 in.2 for each substrate that will beevaluated.7.1.2 For sheathing substrates,two sheathing sections shallbe assembled with a 3.2-mm 18-in.joint.The joint shall betreated as it would in its end-use configuration.7.1.3 Apply t
12、he water-resistive barrier coating over thesubstrate surface in accordance with the manufacturers in-structions.The specimen shall be representative of those usedin actual construction.Allow the water-resistive barrier coatingto dry a minimum of 24 h.1This test method is under the jurisdiction of AS
