、Designation:D707016Standard Test Methods forCreep of Rock Core Under Constant Stress andTemperature1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D7070;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A

、 number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope*1.1 These test methods cover the creep behavior of intactweak and hard rock core in fixed states of stress at ambient(room)or elevated temper

、atures. For creep behavior at lowertemperatures refer to Test Method D5520.The methods specifythe apparatus, instrumentation, and procedures necessary todetermine the strain as a function of time under sustained loadat constant temperature and when applicable, constant humid-ity.1.1.1 Hard rocks are con

、sidered those with a maximumaxial strain at failure of less than 2%.Weak rocks include suchmaterials as salt, potash, shale, and weathered rock, whichoften exhibit very large strain at failure.1.2 This standard consists of three methods that cover thecreep capacity of core specimens.1.2.1 Method ACreep

、 observed and calculated values shall conform to theguidelines for significant digits and rounding established inPractice D6026.1.4 The procedures used to specify how data are collected/recorded and calculated in this standard are regarded as theindustry standard. In addition, they are representative
