11、 unsaturatedcompounds,the first digit of the numbering system representsthe number of unsaturated bonds;the second digit representsone less than the number of carbon atoms in the compoundmolecule;the third digit,one more than the number ofhydrogen atoms in the compound molecule;and the fourthdigit,t

12、he number of fluorine atoms in the compound molecule.Unaccounted for valence requirements are assumed to bechlorine atoms.In those instances where bromine(Br)ispresent in place of part or all of the chlorine,an uppercaseletter B is added after the designation for the parent compound.1This specificat
