3、ice describes methods of preparing surfaces ofnew and weathered hot-dip galvanized steel for painting withliquid paint and coating products.Preparing surfaces of newand partially weathered galvanized steel for powder coating isaddressed in Practice D7803.Hot-dip galvanized steel isproduced by the im
4、mersion of fabricated or unfabricatedproducts in a bath of molten zinc,as specified in SpecificationsA123/A123M or A153/A153M.This practice covers surfacepreparation on iron and steel products and hardware that havenot been painted previously.Galvanized surfaces may havebeen treated with protective
5、coatings to prevent the occurrenceof wet storage stain.This practice does not apply to sheetgalvanized steel products nor to the coil coating or continuousroller coating processes.Sheet and coil surface preparation canbe done in accordance with Practice D7396.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to
