3、zedrubber insulating compound for electrical wiresandcables.The rubber polymer shall consistsubstantiallyofsynthetic rubber.1.2This typeofinsulationissuitable forcontinuous operation at conductor tempera-tures up to 60C and operating voltages notexceeding 2000V.This insulation may havelow-temperatur

5、or physical propertiesspecified in TableI.3.2ThicknessofInsulation-Theaveragethicknessofinsulation shall be not lessthanthat given in TablelAofMethods0470.Theminimum thickness shall be not less than 90%ofthe specified thickness.4.Electrical Requirements4.1A-CVoltageTest-Eachinsulated con-ductor shal
6、l withstand for 5 min the a-c testvoltage given for other than ozone-resistinginsulations in TablelAofMethods0470,unless the d-c test described in4.3isperformed.4.2InsulationResistance-Theinsulatedconductor shall have an insulation-resistancevalueofnot less than that corresponding to aconstantof2000
7、 at 60F(15.6C).When thetemperature at which the insulationistesteddiffers from60F(l5.6C),the measured valueobtained shall be multipliedbythe proper cor-rection factor from Table 2ofMethods0470,using the coefficient furnished by the manufac-turer for his particular compound as previouslydeterminedbyM
8、ethods0470.4.2.1Where an insulated conductoriscov-ered with a nonmetallic jacketsothat the in-sulation resistance can be measured only on thecompleted assembly,the required insulationresistance shallbenotlessthan 60%ofthatrequired for the primary insulation based onthe thicknessofthat insulation.4.3
9、D-C VoltageTest-Uponcompletionofthe insulation resistance test,each insulatedconductor shall withstand for 5 min the d-c testvoltage given for other than ozone-resistinginsulations in Table 1BofMethods0470,unless the a-c test described in4.1isperformed.5.WaterAbsorption5.1When requested by the purch
