10、re combustiontube where sulfur is oxidized to sulfur dioxide(SO2)in anoxygen rich atmosphere.Water produced during the samplecombustion is removed and the sample combustion gases arenext exposed to ultraviolet(UV)light.The SO2absorbs theenergy from the UV light and is converted to an excited sulfurd
