3、portland cement concrete and asphaltic concrete pavements.1.2 This specification does not purport to cover the proper-ties required of sealants for use in areas of portland cementconcrete or asphaltic pavement subject to jet fuel or other fuelspillage such as vehicle and/or aircraft refuel and maint

9、 of a mixture of materialsthat will form a resilient and adhesive compound capable ofeffectively sealing joints and cracks in concrete and asphalticpavements against the infiltration of moisture and foreignmaterial throughout repeated cycles of expansion and contrac-tion with temperature changes,and

10、 that will not,at ambienttemperatures,flow from the joint or be picked up by vehicletires.The material shall be capable of being brought to auniform pouring consistency suitable for completely filling thejoints without inclusion of large air holes or discontinuities andwithout damage to the material

11、.It shall remain relativelyunchanged in application characteristics for at least 6 h at therecommended application temperature in the field.4.Classification4.1 Type IAjoint and crack sealant capable of maintainingan effective seal in moderate climates.The material is tested forlow-temperature perfor

12、mance at 18 C using 50%extension.4.2 Type IIA joint and crack sealant capable of maintain-ing an effective seal in most climates.Material is tested forlow-temperature performance at 29 C using 50%extension.4.3 Type IIIA joint and crack sealant capable of maintain-ing an effective seal in most climat

13、es.Material is tested forlow-temperature performance at 29 C using 50%extension.4.4 Type IVA joint and crack sealant capable of maintain-ing an effective seal in climates experiencing very coldtemperatures.Material is tested for low-temperature perfor-mance at 29 C using 200%extension.NOTE1It is the
