3、ga coal mining environmental resource monitoring location(ERML).1.1.1This practice addresses coal mining geospatial envi-ronmental resource monitoring data relative to the SurfaceMining Control and ReclamationAct of 1977(SMCRA).2Thisgeospatial data shall be obtained from each state,tribal,orfederal,
4、or combinations thereof,coal mining regulatory au-thority(RA)authorized under SMCRAto regulate surface coalmining operations(SCMO).Each RAshall be the authoritativedata source(ADS)for coal mining geospatial data.1.1.2 As used in this practice,coal mining ERMLs repre-sents points where surface,ground
5、water,and geologic drillhole chemistry are used to determine any probable hydrologicconsequences where coal removal,reclamation and relatedsupporting activities has occurred,is occurring,or is plannedand authorized by the RA within a defined SCMO.Theselocations may also include dam safety,impoundmen
6、ts,diver-sions,air quality,air blasts(blasting),construction(refusepiles),and subsidence.1.1.3 This standard is one of several that have been ap-proved or are in development related to SMCRAapproved coalmining operations.Also under development is a terminologystandard.Initial development of these st
7、andards is being doneon an individual basis;however,they may be consolidated toreduce repetition of information between them.1.2 This practice applies to pre-SMCRA and post-SMCRAERMLs.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresp
