2、arentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope*1.1 This guide covers an overview of methods to measurewell discharge.This guide is an integral part of a series ofstandards prepared on the in-situ dete

3、rmination of hydraulicproperties of aquifer systems by single-or multiple-well tests.Measurement of well discharge is a common requirement tothe determination of aquifer and well hydraulic properties.1.2 This guide does not establish a fixed procedure for anymethod described.Rather,it describes diff

4、erent methods formeasuring discharge from a pumping or flowing well.Apumping well is one type of control well.A control well canalso be an injection well or a well in which slug tests areconducted.1.3 This guide does not address borehole flow meters thatare designed for measuring vertical or horizon

5、tal flow within aborehole.1.4 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units presented in brackets are to be regarded sepa-rately as standard.The values stated in each system may not beexact equivalents;therefore,each system shall be used inde-pendently of the other.Combining values f

6、rom the two systemsmay result in non-conformance with the standard.Reporting ofresults in units other than SI shall not be regarded as noncon-formance with this standard.1.5 This guide offers an organized collection of informationor a series of options and does not recommend a specificcourse of acti

7、on.This document cannot replace education orexperience and should be used in conjunction with professionaljudgment.Not all aspects of this guide may be applicable in allcircumstances.This ASTM standard is not intended to repre-sent or replace the standard of care by which the adequacy ofa given prof

8、essional service must be judged,nor should thisdocument be applied without consideration of a projects manyunique aspects.The word“Standard”in the title of thisdocument means only that the document has been approvedthrough the ASTM consensus process.1.6 All observed and calculated values shall confo

9、rm to theguidelines for significant digits and rounding established inPractice D6026.1.6.1 The procedures used to specify how data are collected/recorded or calculated in the standard are regarded as theindustry standard.In addition,they are representative of thesignificant digits that generally sho

10、uld be retained.The proce-dures used do not consider material variation,purpose forobtaining the data,special purpose studies,or any consider-ations for the users objectives;and it is common practice toincrease or reduce significant digits of reported data to becommensurate with these considerations

11、.It is beyond the scopeof this standard to consider significant digits used in analysismethods for engineering data.1.7 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate sa

12、fety,health,and environmental practices and deter-mine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.Furthermore,it is the users responsibility to properly disposeof water discharged.1.8 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internationally recognized principles on
