1、Designation:D 4617 03Standard Classification System forPhenolic Compounds(PF)1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 4617;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision,the year of last revision.A number in parenthese

2、s indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon(e)indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope*1.1 This classification system covers phenolic compoundssuitable for compression,transfer,or injection molding,or acombination thereof.1.2 This classification sy

3、stem is intended to be a means ofcalling out plastic materials used in the fabrication of end itemsor parts.It is not intended for the selection of materials.Material selection should be made by those having expertise inthe plastics field after careful consideration of the design andthe performance

4、required of the part,the environment to whichit will be exposed,the fabrication process to be employed,theinherent properties of the material other than those covered bythis classification system,and the economics.1.3 The properties included in this classification system arethose required to identif

5、y the compositions covered.There maybe other requirements necessary to identify particular charac-teristics important to specialized applications.These will beagreed upon between the user and the supplier,by using thesuffixes specified in Section 5.1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarde
