11、ns in structural engineer-ing.Complex structural systems can be analyzed by computerwith the computer generating the system components,giventhe probability distribution of each component.Frequently thecomponents are single boards for which a compatible set ofstrength and stiffness properties are nee
12、ded.However,theentire structural simulation process is dependent upon theadequacy of the standard uniform number generator required togenerate random observations from prescribed probabilitydistribution functions.4.2 The technological capabilities and wide availability ofmicrocomputers has encourage
