3、 power and distribution electricalapparatus,such as transformers and switchgear.1.2 High fire-point insulating oil differs from conventionalmineral insulating oil by possessing a fire-point of at least300C.High fire-point mineral insulating oils are also referredto as“less flammable”mineral insulati
4、ng oils.This property isnecessary in order to comply with certain application require-ments of the National Electrical Code(Article 450-23)or otheragencies.The material discussed in this specification is mis-cible with other petroleum based insulating oils.Mixing highfire-point liquids with lower fi
5、re point hydrocarbon insulatingoils(for example,Specification D3487 mineral oil)may resultin fire points of less than 300C.1.3 This specification is intended to define a high fire-pointelectrical mineral insulating oil that is compatible with typicalmaterial of construction of existing apparatus and
6、 will satis-factorily maintain its functional characteristic in its applicationin this application.The material described in this specificationmay not be miscible with electrical insulating liquids ofnon-petroleum origin.The user should contact the manufac-turer of the high fire-point insulating oil
