5、acking shall be polyethylene,suitably com-pounded to meet the requirements of this specification.Thebacking shall be smooth and uniform.The tape edges shall bestraight and unbroken.4.2 The pressure-sensitive coating shall be smooth anduniform,and essentially free from lumps and bare spots.“Fisheyes”

8、standard.Backing of a different color than black shall be specified on thepurchase order.7.Test Methods7.1 The selection of rolls,conditioning,and testing shall bein accordance with Test Methods D1000 except as noted.7.2 The Penetration Test shall be performed in accordancewith Test Methods D876 exc
9、ept as follows:with no load on therod,each specimen shall be inserted between the steel ball andthe steel plate with the adhesive surface of the tape facing theplate.The tape shall be smooth against the plate and shall notbe stretched.8.Rejection8.1 If the test results of any roll do not conform to
10、therequirements prescribed in the specification,two additionalrolls shall be selected and tested.If one of the two additionalsample rolls also does not conform to the requirements,the lotmay be rejected at the option of the purchaser.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee D0
