4、 of mechanical pump dispensers and product;simulated storage evaluations of me-chanical pump dispensers,and product;and chemical compatibility of the individual com-ponents of mechanical pump dispensers and product.1.3 This standard may involve hazardous ma-terials,operations,and equipment.This stan

7、 Average Quality of a Lot or Process3 3.Significance and Use 3.1 Determining the accelerated usage,simu-lated storage,and chemical compatibility of me-chanical pump dispensers and product is neces-sary in order to determine the acceptability of a mechanical pump dispenser for consumer usage.4.Appara
8、tus 4.1 Containers,that will allow the mechanical pump dispenser to be affixed to them(Note 1)and also be capable of containing product for a period of time at various environmental condi-tions(Note 2).A minimum of 46 is recom-mended.NOTE l-If possible,the actual container to be mar-keted should be
9、used.NOTE 2-The number of containers is arbitrary and can be changed according to need.4.2 Glass Containers and Closures,capable of containing product and a disassembled mechan-ical pump dispenser.Also,the glass container and closure must be capable of effecting a sealed unit and not be reactive wit
10、h the product at various environmental conditions(Note 3).A minimum of 10 containers is recommended.NOTE 3-The number of glass containers and clo-sures is arbitrary and can be changed according to need.4.3 Product,sufficient amount to fill 46 con-tainers in accordance with 4.1,and 10 glass con-taine

16、 in Section 9.7.Test Specimens 7.1 Test specimens shall be clean,dry,and previously unused mechanical pump dispensers.8.Conditioning 8.1 Condition the test specimens at 23+2C(73&3.6”F)and 50+-5%.Relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to test shall be in accordance with the procedures of Practice D 4332.9.Sample Preparation 9.1 Accelerated Usage-Prepare 22 mechani-cal pump dispensers with product and containers to be used for accelerated usage evaluations.9.1.1 Affix 22 mechanical pump di
