3、 identifi-cation of rigid plastic compounds intended for use in makingnonpressure piping products composed of(1)poly(vinyl chlo-ride)polymer,(2)chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride)polymer,or(3)vinyl chloride copolymers,and the necessary compoundingredients.Compounding ingredients consist of lubricants;s
4、tabilizers;non-poly(vinyl chloride)resin modifiers;colorantsor pigments,or both;fibrous or nonfibrous reinforcements;orfillers.1.2 The requirements in this specification are intended forthe quality control of compounds used to manufacture pipe orfittings intended for nonpressure use.Specific propert
5、ies arenot directly applicable to finished products.When specified ina product or application standard,the series of classificationproperties in this standard form a basis for a material specifi-cation.See the applicableASTM standards or requirements forfinished products.1.3 In special cases,specifi
6、c compounds for unusual pipingapplications that require consideration of other properties notcovered in this specification,such as service temperature,sagresistance,special chemical resistance,weather resistance,bending forces,and electrical properties,shall be considered.1.4 Rigid PVC-type compound
7、s for building applicationsother than piping are covered in Specification D4216.1.5 Rigid PVC compounds for general purpose extrusion,molding,fitting,and pipe are covered in Specification D1784.1.6 The rate of burning test,Test Method D635,is used inthis specification as a test for identification of
8、 certain propertiesof the compound.1.7 It is acceptable for rigid PVC and CPVC recycle plasticsmeeting the requirements of this specification to be used insome applications.Refer to the specific requirements in theMaterial and Manufacture section of the applicable productstandard.1.8 The values stat
