3、er integral insulation and jacket compound forelectrical wires and cables.The rubber polymer shall consistsubstantially of ethylenepropylene copolymer(EPM)or ofethylenepropylene terpolymer(EPDM).1.2 This type insulation is considered suitable for use onwire or cable which will be used for continuous

6、 shall be not less than that given in Table 2.Theminimum thickness shall be not less than 90%of the specifiedthickness.4.Electrical Requirements4.1 Order of TestingPerform the ac voltage withstand,insulation resistance,and dc voltage withstand tests in thatorder when any of these tests are required.
7、The sequence forother testing is not specified.4.2 AC Voltage Withstand TestEach length of integrallycovered conductor shall withstand for 5 min the ac voltagespecified in Table 2,unless the dc test in 4.4 is performed.4.3 Insulation ResistanceThe integrally covered conduc-tor shall have an insulati
8、on resistance not less than thatcorresponding to a constant of 10 000 at 60F(15.6C).Wherethe temperature of the water in which the insulation is testeddiffers from 60F,the measured value obtained shall bemultiplied by the proper correction factor for the particularcompound as previously determined b
9、y the manufacturer.4.4 DC Voltage Withstand TestUpon completion of theinsulation resistance test,each length of integrally coveredconductor shall withstand for 5 min the dc test voltagespecified in Table 2 unless the ac test described in 4.2 isperformed.4.5 Accelerated Water AbsorptionThe integral c
10、overingshall meet the requirements of Table 3.The Electrical MethodTest shall be conducted at 60 Hz with the water temperature at75 6 1C.The water temperature in the Gravimetric MethodTest shall be 70 6 1C.5.Ozone Resistance5.1 The integral covering shall show no injury after expo-sure for 3 h to an
