3、al of small quanti-ties of laboratory wastes safely and in an environmentallysound manner.This guide is applicable to laboratories thatgenerate small quantities of chemical or toxic wastes.Generally,such tasks include,but are not limited to,analyticalchemistry,process control,and research or life sc
4、ience labo-ratories.It would be impossible to address the disposal of allwaste from all types of laboratories.This guide is intended toaddress the more common laboratory waste streams.1.2 This guide is primarily intended to support compliancewith environmental laws in the United States of America;ho
5、wever,the information contained herein can be useful tolaboratories in other geopolitical jurisdictions.Some of theselaws provide for states to take over regulation of air quality ornatural water quality with the approval of the EnvironmentalProtection Agency(EPA).Other matters,such as laboratorywas
6、te tracking,disposal as household garbage and use ofsewers,are handled at the state,local or provider levelthroughout the country.Examples of providers are air scrubberservices,municipal sewer systems,municipal and privategarbage services,and treatment,storage or disposal facilities(TSD).Go to the E
