16、cticesD1799 or D1900.8.Procedure8.1 Porous quartz fiber crucibles and optional disks shouldbe ignited in the furnace at 550 6 25C for at least 15 min.Porcelain crucibles should be ignited with cover in the mufflefurnace at 550 6 25C for 1 h.Place the crucible and cover inthe desiccator.Cool to room temperature and weigh to nearest0.1 mg.8.2 Dry an adequate sample of carbon black for 1 h in thegravity-convection oven set at 125C in an open container ofsuitable dimensions,so that the depth of the
