6、(viny1 chloride-vinyl acetate)sheets.The stipulated tests are intended to identify the type of the material and to ensure good workman-ship and quality.The results are not necessarily suitable for direct application in design because of differences encountered in the shape of part,loading,size,envir
7、onmental conditions,etc.The requirements can be used for inspection and quality control tests,provided that the specified test methods and apparatus are used.3.2 Sheets are available,compounded differ-ently,for which properties not included in this specification are required.These sheets will be add
8、ed to the specification as their inclusion becomes generally desirable and the necessary information becomes available.4.Classification 4.1 T h i s specification covers the following two types of rigid plastic sheet which are based on the compounds identified in Table A2 of the appendix to Specifica
9、tion D 1784.4.1.1 Type I-Sheets having the highest re-quirements for mechanical properties,other than impact strength.Within this type,Grade 1 is unmodified except for lubricants,stabiliz-ers,and pigments essential for processing and coloring.Grade 2 is likewise unmodified except for ingredients ess
10、ential for maximum clarity and minimum color;Grade 2 is normally used for transparent colorless products.4.1.2 Type II-Sheets modified for higher impact strength;tensile strength and modulus are lower than for Type I materials.Within this type,three grades of progressively greater im-pact strength a

15、dence of deterioration to compound or delaminated form when tested for delamination in accord-ance with Section 9.2.This requirement is in-tended to ensure a satisfactorily formed sheet which will possess the properties of the base compound meeting the requirements of Speci-fication D 1784.6.2 The s
16、heets of this specification shail be based on compounds made in accordance with Specification D 1784.The requirements of Specification D 1784 may be verified by testing specimens cut from sheet or sheets that have been heat laminated to satis9 the dimensional requirements of the methods of test spenfied in Specification D 1784.The conditions of lami-nation shall follow the recommendations of the compound supplier.7.Dimensional Tolerances 7.1 Thickness-Thickness measurements shall be made at not
