3、eam withthird-point loading.NOTE1For methods of molding soil-cement specimens,see PracticeD1632.1.2 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard.Thevalues stated in each system are not necessarily exact equiva-lents;therefore,to ensure confo

4、rmance with the standard,eachsystem shall be used independently of the other,and valuesfrom the two systems shall not be combined.The SI units arepresented in brackets.1.2.1 The gravitational system of inch-pound units is usedwhen dealing with inchpound units.In this system,the pound(lbf)represents

5、a unit of force(weight),while the unit for massis slugs.The rationalized slug unit is not given,unless dynamic(F=ma)calculations are involved.1.3 All observed and calculated values shall conform to theguidelines for significant digits and rounding established inPractice D6026.1.3.1 The procedures us

6、ed to specify how data are collected/recorded or calculated in the standard are regarded as industrystandard.In addition,they are representative of the significantdigits that generally should be retained.The procedures useddo not consider material variation,purpose for obtaining thedata,special purp

7、ose studies,or any considerations for theusers objectives;and it is common practice to increase orreduce significant digits of reported data to be commensuratewith these considerations.It is beyond the scope of thisstandard to consider significant digits used in analysis methodsfor engineering desig
