4、n and Properties3.1 Chromated copper arsenate preservative formulationsshall have the composition,calculated as the oxides of chro-mium,copper,and arsenic,as shown in Table 1.The physicalform may be a dry solid,semi-liquid paste,or solution.3.2 The composition of each preservative,or the preserv-ati
5、ve present in a treating solution,may vary within the limitsof composition shown in Table 2.3.3 The preservative or treating solution shall be made up ofwater-soluble compounds,selected from the following groups,each in excess of 95%purity on an anhydrous basis:Hexavalent chromiumfor example,potassi
6、um or sodium dichromate,chro-mium trioxideBivalent copperfor example,copper sulfate,basic copper carbonate,cupricoxide or hydroxidePentavalent arsenicfor example,arsenic pentoxide,arsenic acid,sodiumarsenate or pyroarsenate3.4 The preservative shall be labeled as to its total content ofactive ingred
