1、Designation:D148312(Reapproved 2016)Standard Test Method forOil Absorption of Pigments by Gardner-Coleman Method1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D1483;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of la

2、st revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the U.S.Department of Defense.1.Scope1.1 This test method covers the determinatio

5、thod3.1 A soft paste is formed by the dropwise addition oflinseed oil to the gently stirred pigment. The amount of oilrequired to form the paste is used to calculate an oil absorptionvalue.4.Significance and Use4.1 The oil absorption value obtained by this test methodprovides information about the ve

16、On the basis of an interlaboratory study of this testmethod in which one operator in each of 5 laboratories tested5 pigments with a broad range of oil absorption levels,thewithin-laboratory coefficient of variation was 3.4%at 25 dfand the between-laboratory coefficient of variation was 5.3%at 20 df.Based on these coefficients, the following criteriashould be used to judge the acceptability of results at the 95%confidence level:9.1.1 RepeatabilityTwo results obtained by the same op-erator should b
