8、 apozzolan.The value is based on the combined calcium oxideequivalents of free calcium oxide,calcium hydroxide,andmagnesium oxide.Calcium carbonate and magnesium hydrox-ide are excluded,since these compounds have been found to benonreactive.3.2.2 pozzolanic receptivity index,na performance factorinc
9、orporating both chemical quality and fineness,determinedby Eq 3.4.Chemical and Physical Requirements4.1 The lime shall conform to the requirements listed inTable 1,except as noted in Section 5.5.Performance Requirements5.1 If the chemical factor,Blaine fineness,or pozzolanicreceptivity index is belo
10、w the limits given in Table 1,the limeshall be required to meet the applicable performance require-ments listed in Table 2.Where such lime complies with thelimits listed in Table 2,it shall be considered acceptable for usewith pozzolans.However,it may be necessary to increase thelime content in the
11、lime-pozzolan mixtures in order to meetminimum design criteria.6.Test Methods6.1 Chemical Factor:6.1.1 Determine calcium oxide(CaO)and magnesium oxide(MgO)contents in accordance with Methods C25,C1271,orC1301.Determine the carbon dioxide(CO2)content in accor-dance with Method C25.When the magnesium
12、oxide content isgreater than 5%,determine the peak height of magnesiumoxide and magnesium hydroxide using standard X-ray diffrac-tion procedures and calculate the ratio(r)of magnesium oxideto hydroxide using Eq 1.When the magnesium oxide is lessthan 5%,the value of r shall be 0.30.1This specificatio
