2、ion,the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This test standard shall be used to determine thehydraulic characteristics of stormwater filtration element

3、s.1.2 Elements tested shall be of a size commonlymanufactured,not a scale model.1.3 The position and orientation of all filter elements duringtesting shall be identical to the position and orientation usedduring normal operation.1.4 The direction of flow during testing shall be identical tothe direc

4、tion of flow during normal operation.1.5 As each stormwater treatment device is unique in designand hydraulic capacity,a sufficient number of accuratelymeasured data points are needed to properly define the hydrau-lic characteristics of each test element.Therefore,it is impera-tive that the element

5、setup and subsequent testing methodolo-gies be well defined and executed to assure accurate flow andelevation data.1.6 This test determines the hydraulic capacity of stormwa-ter filtration systems.Test results are not an indicator of thefiltration performance with respect to the capture of solids or

6、other materials.1.7 UnitsThe values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard.Thevalues stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore,each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining values from the two systems may result in

7、noncon-formance with the standard.1.8 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitatio

15、States1 5.Significance and Use5.1 Each element has unique flow patterns and each elementhas unique hydraulic characteristics(that is,flow and headloss).In addition,each element may exhibit variable hydrauliccapacity as the element filters become occluded,the filtermedia swells or shrinks,and water v

16、iscosity(that is,watertemperature)changes.In some cases filters experience hyster-esis with respect to filling and emptying.The testing procedurein Section 7 will help develop the parameters necessary todetermine the hydraulic capacity of an element at one instancein time.The test can be repeated at desired time increments todetermine how the hydraulic capacity varies over time.6.Apparatus6.1 The test element shall be set up in the same configura-tion as a commercially available element.Pipe typ
