3、ed elliptically shapedconcrete pipe to be used for the conveyance of sewage,industrial wastes,storm water,and for the construction ofculverts.1.2 Pipe designed for placement with the major axis hori-zontal shall be designated as“Horizontal Elliptical Pipe.”Pipedesigned for placement with the major a
4、xis vertical shall bedesignated as“Vertical Elliptical Pipe.”1.3 This specification is the SI companion to SpecificationC507;therefore,no inch-pound equivalents are presented inthis specification.Reinforced concrete pipe that conforms tothe requirements of C507 are acceptable under this Specifica-ti
5、on C507M unless prohibited by the owner.NOTE1This specification is a manufacturing and purchase specifica-tion only,and does not include requirements for bedding,backfill,or therelationship between field load condition and the strength classification ofpipe.However,experience has shown that the succ
