8、pection(Section 7).4.Materials4.1 The material shall be copper of such quality and puritythat the finished product shall have the properties and charac-teristics prescribed in this specification.NOTE1Specification B49 defines copper suitable for use.4.2 Copper bars of special qualities,forms,or type
9、s,as maybe agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser,and which will conform to the requirements prescribed in thisspecification,may also be used.5.General Requirements(see Section 8)5.1 Tensile Strength and ElongationThe wire shall con-form to the requirements as to tensile properties p
10、rescribed inTable 1(Explanatory Note 3 and Note 4).For wire whosenominal diameter is more than 0.001 in.(0.025 mm)greaterthan a size listed in Table 1,but which is less than that of thenext larger size,the requirements of the next larger size shallapply.5.1.1 Tests on a specimen containing a joint s
