11、ll adversely affect the appearance and perfor-mance of applied coatings despite the observance of bestanodizing practices.Accordingly,defects in the coating thatresult from such conditions shall not be cause for rejection.NOTE2To minimize problems of this sort,the specifications coveringthe basis ma
12、terial or the item to be anodized should contain appropriatelimitations on such basis metal conditions.3.2 The basis metal shall be subjected to such mechanicalfinishing operations,cleaning,and chemical or electrolyticpre-treatments as are necessary to yield anodic coatings withthe final quality and
