2、in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon(e)indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers anesthesia breathing tubes,integrally attached end fittings,and integrally attached compo-nents for use with anesthesia

3、 breathing systems.Excluded aresimilar tubes for specific other purposes,such as those usedwith some breathing machines,pediatric anesthesia circuits,and gas scavenging tubes.1.2 The following subjects are covered:terminology,di-mensions,labeling and marking,selected performance require-ments,and te

7、.3 kPa(760 mm Hg)and dry gas.3.1.2 assembled enda fitting integrally attached by themanufacturer to the end of the tube.3.1.3 breathing tubea large-bore(greater than or equal to15 mm)nonrigid tube,usually corrugated,used to conveygases or vapors,or both,to and from the patient.3.1.4 compliance(press

8、ure-volume relationship)a changeof volume per change in pressure.Units of compliance areexpressed as millilitres per kilopascal(millilitres per centime-tre H2O)per metre length of tube.3.1.5 conductivea property of a breathing tube and anyintegrally attached components with electrical conductivityac

9、ceptable in accordance with the applicable test(see 10.1.1).3.1.6 disposablean item intended to be used once anddiscarded.3.1.7 flow resistancethe pressure difference from inlet tooutlet of a device caused by flow.Units of resistance arekilopascal per litre per second(centimetre of H2O per litre per

12、.Material4.1 Requirements:4.1.1 Tubes should be made of materials suitable for theintended use and should function satisfactorily in the presenceof anesthetic agents and gases commonly used and not elutetoxic substances.4.1.2 Reusable tubing should be able to withstand ordinarymethods of cleaning,di

13、sinfection,and sterilization(see12.1.1.1).It is desirable that such products should withstandaccepted methods of steam sterilization.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee F29 onAnesthetic and Respiratory Equipment and is the direct responsibility of Subcom-mittee F29.12 on

16、ered.5.1.2.2 Assembled Sets(integrally attached Y-piece andtubing,not intended to be disassembled):(a)Patient EndThe patient end of the Y-piece shall be a22-mm/15-mm male/female coaxial fitting complying withSpecification F 1054.(b)Machine EndThe machine end of both breathing tubesshall mate with 22-mm male fittings which comply withSpecification F 1054.The ends may be assembled,plain,cylindrical,or tapered.5.1.3 LengthThe length of the breathing tube shall bedesignated as the nominal overall le
